The KEO Brewery was the first to be built on the island. The production of KEO Beer started early in 1951. The original brewery had a small production capacity of about 15,000 hectolitres annually.
The company has carried out substantial extensions to both the building and the plant, the equipment now used being the most modern and up-to date machinery in the brewing industry. 
The brewery is now capable of producing over 30,000 hectolitres per month.
